Singer and spiritual healer Kenishaa Francis has taken legal action against online trolls after receiving a barrage of rape and death threats amid allegations of an affair with Tamil actor Jayam Ravi (Ravi Mohan), who is currently undergoing a divorce from his wife, Aarti Ravi.
The controversy began when Kenishaa was seen attending a wedding alongside Ravi Mohan, fueling speculation about their relationship. Subsequently, Aarti Ravi made a suggestive Instagram post implying a third party’s interference in her marriage, which many interpreted as a reference to Kenishaa. In response, Kenishaa has consistently denied these allegations. However, the situation escalated, leading to intense cyberbullying directed at her. Kenishaa shared screenshots of the abusive messages on Instagram, stating, “Take me to court if I’m wrong.”
On May 25, 2025, Kenishaa issued a legal notice against the online abuse, citing violations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, including sections on sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and defamation, as well as provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000. The notice warns that all offensive content and user identities have been documented for potential judicial proceedings.
This development underscores the severe impact of cyberbullying on individuals involved in high-profile disputes and highlights the legal avenues available to combat such harassment.
