In a significant development in Indian cinema, Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has been confirmed to replace Bollywood actor Salman Khan in director Atlee’s upcoming mega-budget film. This project, produced by Sun Pictures, is reported to be a reincarnation-themed period saga with a budget exceeding ₹600 crores, making it one of the most expensive Indian film projects to date.
The film is set to feature two male protagonists, with Allu Arjun leading the cast. The search for the second male lead is ongoing. Additionally, the narrative includes three main female leads, with Janhvi Kapoor reportedly being considered for one of these roles.
Pre-production is slated to commence between April and May 2025, with filming expected to wrap up by early 2026. This timeline aligns with Allu Arjun’s schedule, as his previously planned project with director Trivikram Srinivas has been postponed, allowing him to prioritize Atlee’s film.
The decision to cast Allu Arjun came after Sun Pictures expressed hesitation to invest heavily in a project led by Salman Khan, leading to the casting change.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Indian cinema, bringing together prominent talents from different regional industries for a pan-India cinematic experience.
