‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ writer Manoj Santoshi passes away due to liver ailment

​Manoj Santoshi, the acclaimed writer behind the popular television sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 49 due to liver-related complications. He had been battling liver cancer and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Secunderabad, where he was awaiting a liver transplant.

Santoshi’s contributions to Indian television were significant, having penned scripts for several successful shows, including Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, May I Come In Madam?, and Jijaji Chhat Par Hai. His work was instrumental in shaping the comedic landscape of Indian TV, bringing joy to countless viewers.

Actress Shilpa Shinde, known for her role in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, has alleged medical negligence during Santoshi’s treatment. She criticized the hospital’s handling of his care, stating, “This is completely doctor’s negligence. KIMS, Secunderabad Hospital… I don’t know if they are doctors or what are they.” These allegations have sparked discussions about medical practices and patient care standards.
