On his 40th birthday, March 27, 2025, Ram Charan unveiled the first look and title of his 16th film, Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
The first-look posters reveal a striking transformation: in one, Ram Charan sports long hair, an unkempt beard, and a nose ring, exuding intensity as he lights a cigar. Another depicts him holding a worn-out cricket bat in a rustic village stadium illuminated by floodlights, hinting at the film’s sports-action theme.
Peddi boasts a stellar cast, including Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyendu Sharma. The film’s music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with cinematography by R. Rathnavelu and editing by Navin Nooli.
The unveiled posters have sparked comparisons to the rugged aesthetics of films like Pushpa and KGF, with fans noting similarities in the intense, earthy portrayals.
Production commenced with a formal launch in March 2024, and principal photography has been ongoing. The film is slated for a theatrical release in March 2026, with Netflix securing post-theatrical streaming rights.
