Naga Chaitanya, who is currently gearing up for the release of his survival drama Thandel, recently addressed the speculation surrounding his potential entry into Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Cinematic Universe (LCU).
At a promotional event for Thandel, a video of Chaitanya reacting to the possibility of joining LCU went viral. When asked whether he would consider being a part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s interconnected film universe, the actor responded with enthusiasm, saying, “Of course, I would love to see myself as well.”
For those unfamiliar, the LCU already features some of South India’s biggest stars, including Karthi (Kaithi), Kamal Haasan (Vikram), Suriya (Rolex), and Thalapathy Vijay (Leo). Each of these films has contributed to the success of Lokesh’s ambitious cinematic universe.
Meanwhile, Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti and presented by Allu Aravind, tells the gripping story of a fisherman who unintentionally drifts into Pakistani waters, triggering a powerful struggle for survival and a determined quest to return home. Starring Naga Chaitanya alongside Sai Pallavi, the film is set for release on February 7, 2025 and has already generated significant buzz following its trailer launch.
