Actress Sagarika Ghatge recently shared an interesting revelation about the early days of her relationship with former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan. In a candid conversation, she disclosed that Zaheer was initially hesitant to approach her and deliberately kept his distance. According to Sagarika, Zaheer had been advised against getting close to her, as certain people in his circle had labeled her as “that kind of girl,” leading him to form a preconceived notion.
“He wouldn’t even talk to me. He maintained his distance and was quite reserved whenever we were around each other,” Sagarika recalled. However, fate had other plans. Actor Angad Bedi, a mutual friend, ended up playing the role of a mediator. Recognizing the chemistry and potential connection between the two, Angad stepped in to clear the air and encouraged Zaheer to get to know Sagarika beyond the hearsay.
“Angad played a significant role in bridging that gap. He made Zaheer realize that I wasn’t what others had portrayed me to be. Sometimes, people’s perceptions can cloud judgments, but I’m glad we moved past that,” she said.
Once Zaheer finally opened up and the two started talking, their bond grew stronger, culminating in their marriage in 2017. Sagarika and Zaheer have since become one of the most adored couples in the sports and entertainment worlds, proving that sometimes, all it takes is breaking down initial barriers to discover something truly special.
