Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier Undergo Intense De-Aging for Viduthalai Part 2

Reports reveal that Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier will portray a married couple from the 1960s in Viduthalai Part 2, directed by Vetrimaaran. To bring their roles to life, both actors have undergone intense de-aging treatments. Vetrimaaran, renowned for his exceptional filmmaking, has already earned accolades for his recent film Viduthalai Part 1. This gripping 1980s-set crime thriller, starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, was met with widespread praise and set the stage for a sequel, in which Vijay Sethupathi’s character will be further developed.

About Viduthalai Part 2

The sequel is expected to focus on Vijay Sethupathi’s character, Perumaal Vaathiyaar, and his journey to becoming a prominent rebel leader. A significant portion of the story will be set in the 1960s, especially during scenes featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier. Other notable actors, including Soori, Prakash Raj, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Ilavarasu, will also play key roles in the film.

Produced by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran through their respective companies, RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company, the film will feature music by Maestro Ilayaraja and cinematography by Velraj. Viduthalai Part 2 is slated for release in theatres during the summer of 2024.

Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier’s Upcoming Projects

Vijay Sethupathi recently appeared in the action thriller Jawan, directed by Atlee, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Sanjay Dutt, and others. Released on September 7th, 2023, the film received positive reviews from both critics and audiences.

Next, the Vikram Vedha actor will star in Merry Christmas, a thriller directed by Sriram Raghavan, co-starring Katrina Kaif. The film is set for release on January 12th, 2024.

On the other hand, Manju Warrier was last seen in Mahesh Vettiyar’s political satire Vellari Pattanam, alongside Soubin Shahir, Salim Kumar, Shabareesh Varma, and others. Following this, she will feature in Manu Anand’s Tamil film Mr. X, which also stars R. Sarathkumar, Arya, and Anagha. Additionally, the Asuran actress will appear in Rajinikanth’s upcoming project, tentatively titled Thalaivar 170, directed by TJ Gnanavel, as well as the much-anticipated sequel to Lucifer, L2- Empuraan.
